What is a vCard — and why is it worth it?
A vCard (Virtual Contact File) is the digital counterpart to the classic business card. Instead of a card with text — which the recipient has to type out or photograph — they scan your QR code, and all the data lands directly in the smartphone's address book:

- Company & position
- Phone number (mobile & landline possible)
- Email address
- Website
- Postal address
- Social profiles (optional)

How to create your vCard QR code
- In the generator: select content type "vCard".
- Enter data: first name, last name, company, position, phone, email, website, address. All optional — only the essentials are needed.
- Logo & design: "Business" preset for a serious look (navy on light blue). Optionally add your company logo as the centerpiece.
- Choose size: for a business card, at least 2×2 cm. SVG download for print quality.

Tips for the perfect vCard business card
- Back, not front: the front stays classic — name + logo. The QR with CTA goes on the back.
- With explanatory text: "📱 Save contact directly" — otherwise the recipient won't know what happens.
- Matte cardstock: glossy lamination reflects the phone's light and makes scanning harder.
- Test before printing: try with iPhone AND Android. Some vCard fields are displayed differently on different systems.

Which fields are required?
None are required — all are optional. Recommendation: at minimum name, phone, email. More data = better. Easy Free QR only encodes the fields you fill in.
What size for the QR on the business card?
At least 2×2 cm, commonly 2.5×2.5 cm. From hand distance (30 cm) this works well. Smaller → smartphone camera can't focus.
Can I have a photo in the QR code?
You can add your company logo in the center (round photo, max. 30%, error correction "H"). The actual profile photo will then appear in the address book after the scan — if your smartphone system supports it.
Does it work with umlauts?
Yes, easyfreeqr.com uses UTF-8 encoding. Some competing generators get this wrong and produce "M?ller GmbH" instead of "Müller GmbH". With us, it works reliably.
