Why add a logo to your QR code?
A QR code without a logo looks anonymous and generic. With your logo it becomes part of your brand:
- Instant recognition: Customers see your logo and trust the code (less "What is this?" hesitation).
- Higher scan rate: Branded QR codes get scanned 30-50% more often than plain black-and-white ones.
- Professional impression: On business cards, posters or packaging — the logo makes the difference.
- Anti-spoofing: A logo makes it harder for someone to replace your QR with a malicious copy.
How it works technically
QR codes have built-in error correction (Reed-Solomon code). That means: part of the QR area can be "missing" — the code stays readable. The levels:
A logo blocks part of the QR code. Error correction compensates for that. Rule of thumb: Logo <= 30% of the area + EC "H" = safely scannable.
How to build your logo QR
- Enter content: URL, vCard, Wi-Fi — whatever you need.
- Enable logo: Toggle "Add logo to QR code" to ON.
- Upload logo: PNG, JPG or WebP. Max 2 MB. SVG not allowed for security reasons.
- Set size: Slider from 20-50%. Recommended: 25-35%.
- Error correction "H": Automatically recommended as soon as a logo is enabled.
- Watch the quality indicator: A live display tells you whether the QR is still scannable (Excellent/Good/Risky).
- Test it: Scan with both iPhone AND Android before the final download.
Common problems & solutions
- "QR doesn't scan" → Logo too big. Reduce to 25%. Set EC to "H".
- "Logo blurry" → Low resolution. Logo should be at least 500×500 px. PNG > JPG.
- "Logo invisible in QR" → Logo has no contrast. Embedding the logo on a white background works better.
- "Can't upload my logo" → File > 2 MB? Compress with TinyPNG. Or SVG → which we block for XSS security reasons.
