Ja, completely and permanently free — also for commercial use. No registration, no trial period, no subscription, no watermarks, no hidden fees. We finance the site through discreet advertising (Google AdSense) — but you don't have to click or agree to anything to create QR codes.
Do you track my links? Is my QR code replaced with a tracking URL?
No. Your QR code contains exactly the data you enter — word for word, character for character. We route nothing through our servers. If you https://meinefirma.de enter, your smartphone scans exactly this URL — not https://easyfreeqr.com/r/abc123. That's called static QR code. Other providers often use dynamic QR codes with tracking — not with us.
Is my data stored?
No. Easy Free QR works completely in your browser (JavaScript-based, client-side). Your entries, your logo, and your generated QR codes never leave your device. There are also no logs or storage. You can even use the site offline (Service Worker / Progressive Web App).
Does the QR code ever expire?
No, never. Easy Free QR creates static QR codes. This means: The content is encoded directly in the image. There is no server that "resolves" the code and that could go offline someday. As long as you have the image, it works — even in 10 or 50 years.
Can I use the QR codes commercially — on products, in advertising, on business cards?
Yes, unlimited. You can use the generated QR codes on products, in print advertising, in online advertising, on packaging, on posters, in books, in apps and everywhere else — for free and without license fees. Attribution is not required.
What download formats are available?
We offer 5 formats:
- PNG — Standard for web, social media, presentations (small, sharp, optional transparent background)
- SVG — Vector format for print, posters, flyers (infinitely scalable without loss of quality)
- PDF — Ready-to-print A4 template with label (ideal as a menu sign or table display)
- JPG — Compressed for email attachments (smallest file size)
- WebP — Modern web format with better compression
What exactly is a QR code?
A QR code (Quick Response Code) is a two-dimensional barcode. It was invented in 1994 in Japan by Denso Wave and stores significantly more data than a classic barcode. Every modern smartphone camera (iPhone from iOS 11, Android from version 8) can read it directly — without an extra app.
How do I add my own logo?
In the generator, you'll find the section "2. Logo (optional)". Enable the toggle and upload a PNG, JPG, or WebP of your logo (max. 2 MB) — it will be automatically centered. Use the logo size slider (20 – 50 %) and the quality indicator to find the optimal size. Tip: Choose error correction level "H" (Maximum) so the code can be reliably scanned even with a logo. For security reasons, we do not support SVG logo uploads (potential script injection).
What data can I store?
URLs, text (up to ~2000 characters), email addresses, phone numbers, SMS messages, WiFi access credentials (guests scan, they're in!), digital business cards (vCard), geo-coordinates, WhatsApp direct messages, and social media profiles from 11 platforms.
How large should a QR code be printed?
Rule of thumb: At least 2 × 2 cm for reading distances under 30 cm (business cards, menus). For posters from 1 m distance: at least 5 × 5 cm. For billboards from 5 m: at least 25 × 25 cm. Higher error correction (H) allows smaller codes. For high-quality prints, use our SVG or PDF format — infinitely scalable without pixels.
Why does the page show ads?
Easy Free QR is free and there is no registration. To finance the site, domain, and provision of QR codes, we display discreet ads (Google AdSense) — but only if you consent to it in your cookie selection. If you choose "Essential Only," the page runs ad-free. Functionality remains identical in any case.
